Exploring Fuerst Wiacek Brewery

Whether you’re a seasoned craft beer pro or just starting to explore, Fuerst Wiacek has something for everyone.

If you’re a craft beer lover visiting Berlin, Fuerst Wiacek should be on your radar. Known for their bold IPAs, this brewery stands out in Berlin’s bustling craft beer scene. I had the chance to visit recently during a Berlin weekend - International Beer Friends Gathering—and it’s an experience I won’t forget. Here’s a quick look at my visit!

Arriving at Fuerst Wiacek

My journey started from my accommodation near Checkpoint Charlie. I hopped on the U-Bahn and, after a 50-minute ride and a short walk, arrived at Fuerst Wiacek, tucked away in an industrial area. Not the kind of place I’d want to wander after dark, but the huge brewery sign made it easy to find. I met up with the group, and the event was organized by Stephan and Filip, who brought together craft beer geeks, influencers, and brewery staff for the first-ever International Beerfriends Gathering. And we’re already talking about making it an annual thing with a new country each year!

Behind the Scenes at Fuerst Wiacek

Once inside, we were greeted by a small shop and bar area (usually open Wednesday to Friday). We kicked off with Low-Life, an American-style light lager—perfect for starting the day. Then came the tour, and wow, I was blown away! I had no idea how much beer they were cranking out. Fuerst Wiacek brews a single base and splits it into multiple versions, each with unique hop additions. They’re constantly experimenting, launching new beers every week. Their hoppy and fruity IPAs and NEIPAs are their specialties, and they’re definitely doing something right!

After the tour, we got to try some brews. One standout was Abstract Birthday, a 6.8% NEIPA that was perfect for the sunny spring day. With a mix of Galaxy, Simcoe, and Strata hops, it brought tropical fruit flavors with pineapple bitterness, creamy coconut, and caramelized peach. It was a real treat!

The group also shared some of their own beers, making the tasting even more fun.

What made this experience memorable was the sense of community and ofc great brews! The group of beer enthusiasts made it feel like a true celebration of craft beer. The vibe was laid-back and inviting, with everyone sharing their passion for good brews.

Why You Should Visit
